(Stock #4402). The flagship sports car–and the fastest production car built to its date–of Mercedes-Benz, the AMG SL-55 is a most impressive car by any standard. Its 493 horsepower V-8 engine produces 516 lb. ft. of torque and provides a 0-50 mph time of 4.3 seconds, 0-100 mph in 10.9 seconds, a top speed electronically limited to 156 mph, and reaches a ¼ mile speed of 110 mph. The transmission is a 5-speed automatic with AMG Speed Shift Technology and a manual shift mode. To control this performance, the car is equipped with an AMG High Performance Braking System with 4-wheel ventilated ABS power disc, electronic braking. Safety features include dual 2-stage front airbags, head-throat side impact airbags, driver’s knee airbag, high strength steel reinforced cabin with front and rear impact crumple zones, Tele-Aid emergency calling/communication system, Bi-Xenon headlamps with twilight sensor, automatic pop-up roll bar, etc. Comfort features are also in abundance, and include dual-zone climate control with dust and pollen charcoal filter, leather interior with active ventilated seats, 12-way adjustable heated seats with pneumatic lumbar support and 3-position memory, 8-speaker “Audio Pilot” voice control sound system with COMMAND navigation and 6-CD changer, Parkronic assist, etc. Our car, beautiful in Brilliant Silver with Charcoal, has been driven consistently @2,500 miles per year since new. It was sold new to a local (Warren) woman on October 24, 2003, who drove the car just 26,000 miles before selling us the car eleven years later. We then sold the car to another local (Bridgewater) woman who drove the car another 14,000 miles in her ten years of ownership. With the exception of slight curb damage to the front spoiler, the car has never seen any damage or paintwork and has been kept in magnificent condition throughout.
